Parks of Laguna Beach

Beaches aren't the only attraction there is on Laguna Beach. The city also boasts 20 parks, many of them with public amenities such as tennis courts, picnic areas, lookout points, and walking trails. This is part of what makes Laguna Beach homes so attractive: there's lots of open space around, so you can enjoy the outdoors even if you're in the middle of the city.

Below are some of the most popular parks in Laguna Beach and their main attractions.

Alta Laguna Park: located at the northern end of Alta Laguna Boulevard, between Park Avenue and West Ridge. Take the trail entrance to Wood Canyon Wilderness Park, where you'll find beautiful beach views.

Dog Park: a pet-friendly spot on Laguna Canyon Road, just south of El Toro. Owners can let their dogs run off-leash; also a popular spot for picnickers.

Crescent Bay: a beach and park on Crescent Bay Drive, just off the Coast Highway. The coastal location provides unobstructed 180-degree views of the beach.

Heisler Park: one of the biggest and most popular parks in the city, featuring walking trails, viewing points, picnic and barbecue facilities, tide pools, and public art displays. It sits on a bluff along Cliff Drive, offering excellent coastal views.

Main Beach Park: popularly called Laguna's Window to the Sea, this park sits right in the middle of the downtown area and offers volleyball and basketball courts, picnic tables, play areas, tide pools, and a boardwalk connecting to Heisler Park.

Browns' Park: a relatively small park located on the South Coast Highway. From the park, one can see Main Beach and its public art area.

Lang Park: located on Wesley Drive just off the Pacific Coast Highway, this is a family-friendly park offering a play and picnic area, basketball and tennis court, and occasional public art exhibits.

Laguna Coast Wilderness Park: a 6,500-acre reserve on the border between Laguna Beach and Irvine. It boasts one of the last few coastal sage ecosystems, as well as several other plant species native to Southern California.
