The first certified green residence by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) in coastal Southern California, located in Laguna Village, has hit the market for just under $15 million, the Orange County register reported earlier this week.
The home, with an asking price of $14.995 million, was developed from an empty dirt lot on 990 Oceanfront. Laguna Beach developer Tresor Properties started work on the home in July 2009 and was ready to put it on the market by October 2010.
The 3,750-square foot property offers three bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a media room, ocean-view elevators, an advanced security system, fire pit, a saltwater pool, and breathtaking ocean views through full glass windows. It is also equipped with flatscreen TV sets that look like mirrors when turned off.
Jeff Fischbeck, a listing agent for Tresor, said that they wanted the home to be a piece of art. And if customer response is anything to go by, he adds, they have more than reached their goals.
The home still needs a few last-minute touches which will be done in the next two weeks, but is ready for occupancy, Fischbeck said. He also praised the company’s construction team on having completed the home in just 14 months, with remarkable results.
Just down the street from the home, at 992 Oceanfront, is another green Tresor property designed for environmental friendliness. Both are in what Tresor chairman John Fischbeck calls an “environmentally sensitive” area, and are built specifically around the neighborhood’s particular needs.
