Laguna Beach Has 3 Priciest Coastal Condos
Laguna Beach may be one of the slowest real estate markets in Orange County-homes stay on the market for close to a year-but it's certainly not the cheapest, if figures from last month's listings are anything to go by.
In a list of the top 10 most expensive condo and apartment listings in coastal Orange County, the top three were all located in Laguna Beach, and were priced close to or more than $5 million (the city average is $4 million).
Topping the list was 631 Cliff Drive, an oceanfront property in the Laguna Seacliff Community, with an asking price of $5.75 million. The condo is built on top of a coastal bluff and features two bedrooms, 1.75 baths, and 1,615 square feet of floor space.
Two units on 31423 Coast Highway grabbed the second and third spots, with asking prices of $5.499 million and $4.899 million respectively. Both have 1,902 square feet of living space, 2 bedrooms, and 2 baths.
The pricier unit has been on the market for a little over three months, while the less expensive one is fairly new at only a couple of weeks. Both offer excellent oceanfront views of the coast, rocks, whitewater, and nearby Catalina Island.
The rest of the top 10 were filled out by homes on the south coast, including cities like Newport Beach, San Clemente, Dana Point (including a home in prestigious Monarch Beach), and Corona del Mar
Experts agree that the demand for condos and apartments has helped keep real estate markets afloat in coastal cities like Laguna Beach, as homeowners opt for cheaper alternatives to single-family and luxury homes.
