Laguna Beach Has 6 of Top 10 South Coast Homes
Six of the ten most searched homes in the Orange County south coast are located in Laguna Beach, raising the hopes of many that the city's sluggish real estate market is on the road to a rebound.
The list was put together by Realtor.com, the online headquarters of the Los Angeles Association of Realtors. The site took into account the three main cities on the South Coast: Laguna Beach, Dana Point, and San Clemente.
Topping the list was 2909 Canto de los Ciervos, a 5-room, 4 ½-bathroom home in the Forster Ranch community of San Clemente. The home is on the market for $1.149 million and features a broad view of the hills inland.
Homes in Laguna Beach took up the second, third, sixth, seventh, ninth, and tenth spots. Dana Point has one home on the list, 2 Regina, a Cape Cod-style property located in the prestigious Monarch Beach area. The home is ranked eighth and is worth $1.099 million.
Laguna Beach also has the most expensive home on the list, 640 Alta Vista Way, with an asking price of $1.499 million. The 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom home is located in the Laguna Village community and offers unobstructed views of Catalina and Palos Verdes.
The Laguna Beach real estate market has been historically slow for the past few months, even becoming O.C.'s slowest market for a brief period in September. Experts believe that high asking prices and low inventory are the main reasons for the slowdown.
